90 Days Until Angus Dies
Change his fate.
Angus is a Cow.
For most people, he’s become a hyper-real object.
A burger. A leather bag.
For me, Angus is just a lil’ guy.
He’s got places he likes to chill at, friends, family.
Angus is his own person.
Yet I can purchase him as objects.
In 90 days, he’s set to become burgers and bags.
Angus is only 2 years old - a child. It’s like if I were killed at 8 years old and then put between bread, or in a car trunk.
I want Angus to live.
With so many like him bred, killed, and commodified as children, Angus living out his life feels like a fantasy.
MSCHF is trying to fulfill this fantasy by leaving Angus’ fate to the market.
Here’s how I voted for Angus to live:
I purchased the Angus Token.
I voided my Angus Token intended for a 3-pack of his burgers (gross).
The money then goes to supporting the rest of his life on a sanctuary (epic).
A game of death, or life.
This is not a game that should legally exist, but right now, it does. A friend showed it to me when it started. I played.
I want Angus to live.
I think about Angus a lot:
I see his “token” each day in my home.
I get the newsletter that shows me his growth.
I check the votes on if he’ll become burgers and bags, or if he’ll become respected.
I don’t regret tearing off the token’s Seal of Regret.
I regret not showing Angus to you earlier.
The wager on Angus’ life has been shown to the wrong people. The people who want him as burgers. As leather bags. People whose exploitation we will inevitably write laws against.
I know you see Angus like I do.
You see Angus as a person. A lil’ guy. A guy with friends and family.
In 90 days, I want MSCHF, this popular luxury brand, to tell a positive story. A VEGAN VICTORY of how people voted against their own interests. How people donated to set Angus free.
A lot of people right now are telling you to give to “effective charities.” That’s great. In another post, I’ll share how much I gave to my local animal sanctuary this year.
For now, I want Angus to live.
